The story in short

Kusho, the leader of the Kinkou, took Zed in as a boy and raised him alongside his own son, Shen. Zed was gifted, but he always felt like he was living in Shen's shadow.

Then came Jhin. When the Kinkou finally caught the killer, Zed wanted him dead on the spot. Kusho locked him away instead. To Zed, that mercy was weakness. He turned to forbidden shadow magic and led a coup against the order that raised him. Today he leads the Order of Shadow, convinced Ionia has to be defended by any means necessary.

They grew up like brothers in the Kinkou, raised by Shen's father. Then Zed turned to forbidden shadow magic, led a coup against the order, and Kusho died. Who actually struck the blow? That's the question I dig into in my documentary on Zed and Shen.
