The story in short
Hwei grew up in the temple of Koyehn, an ancient school of the arts on an island in northwestern Ionia, and was raised to lead it one day. His magic lives in his painting: his pictures reach straight into people's feelings, so they demand enormous self-control.
One summer he showed a visiting painter named Jhin around the temple. Not long after the guest left, the temple was destroyed in a single morning. The masters were dead, and Hwei was the only one left. In the rubble he found a trap shaped like a lotus. Now Hwei wanders Ionia, confronting villains with scenes of suffering, comforting victims and still searching for an answer to why.
