Udyr is the most powerful shaman the Freljord has ever known. From birth he heard every spirit around him so loudly that he couldn't hear his own thoughts. When the Frostguard came for him, he hid in the forest and felt his whole tribe die at once. In his grief and rage he drew on the power of the forest spirits and brought a mountain down on the killers.
Years later the Winter's Claw took him in, and their leader Hejian trained him alongside her daughter Kalkia. The two learned from each other and the tribe became his home, until the madness of sick wolves took hold of him and he nearly killed a child. Hejian banished him. Kalkia visited him until she became leader herself, but Udyr refused to come back, and he swore to always protect her and her people.
Then a monk from Ionia, Lee Sin, came looking for him. Their duel ended with no winner, and Udyr went back with him to the Hirana monastery, where for the first time his mind went quiet. A few years later he returned to the Freljord wearing the blindfold Lee Sin gave him, and found the Avarosan and the Winter's Claw at war. Believing Ashe's unification would harm the spirit of the land, he sided with Sejuani, Kalkia's daughter. Neither of them would ever say it, but they're like father and daughter.
