The story in short
Long ago, Mordekaiser was the warlord Sahn-Uzal, who ravaged the northern lands. When he died, he found that no halls and no glory awaited him, and he refused to fade. He learned the forbidden tongue of Ochnun and whispered temptations to anyone willing to listen, until at last a group of mages bound his spirit into armor of dark metal, much like the armor he wore in life.
He killed them on the spot, took their army and raised the Immortal Bastion at the heart of his new empire. In the end an alliance of the Noxii tribes and a betrayal from his own inner circle brought him down, and his empty armor was sealed away in a secret place. But Mordekaiser had planned for that too: the souls of everyone who died under his rule became the bricks and mortar of his Afterworld.
