The story in short
Rell grew unhappier with every year, until one day a rare magic woke in her that let her command metal. Her parents saw a chance to get her into the political or military elite, and a pale woman offered them a grim deal: hand her over to a secret academy. There, at eight years old, she was made to fight another student for the first time, and then a magic sigil was painfully grafted into her arm.
The losers of those fights lost their magic and were left as empty dolls, with no feelings and no memories. At sixteen Rell broke down the doors of the forbidden wing, learned the truth and escaped. Now she attacks every Noxian soldier she meets while searching for the academy's other survivors, and the Black Rose hurries to erase every trace. Rell has no mercy for a state that stands by and does nothing.
