Who they are
Asa Konte is an Ionian farmer who lost both of his sons in the Noxian invasion. One morning, while looking for a lost calf, he found a stranger from Noxus in his field, soaked to the bone and burning with fever. He and his wife Shava brought her home, fed her and gave her clothes. It was Riven.
When she was tried for Souma's death, Asa spoke in her favor. Instead of death she was sentenced to mend the family's fields and the damage the war had done, and Asa and Shava took her in as their daughter.
Later Shava died peacefully in her sleep. When Riven's old comrades came to drag her back to Noxus and the runesmith Tifalenji put a blade to Asa's throat, Riven gave herself up to save him.
